Window Treatment

Thursday, September 22nd, 2005

I needed to obscure the view through a window in my house (cause I live in the hood and I don’t want anybody to steal my stuff!) So I made 4X4″ window “tiles” out of Crayola window decal paint that I purchased at Fred Meyer.

I decided on 4X4 so that when I butted them up against eachother they would fill my particular window, and also because the plastic sheet (provided with the paint) you use to squeeze the paint onto is just a little bit bigger than that. Here’s a pic of a few of them:

Window Decals

To make your own:

-buy some decal paint (crayola is easy to find but there are also different brands at art supply stores)

- Draw your image on a sheet of paper (make it simple and consider the size of the plastic sheet provided)

-place the plastic sheet over your drawing for a guide and paint away.

Let them dry for twenty four hours before peeling them off the plastic sheet (like a fruit roll up!) , put it on your window, and repeat until you’ve filled it up (I’m still working on that part).

Have fun!

Kula’s Scarf

Kula

Kula is so funny. I knitted this scarf for her last Christmas. She LOVES to wear things around her neck. Everytime she sees me take her scarf out of the laundry after I’ve washed it she runs over and puts her head down so I’ll put it on her and then she prances around to show everyone.
