Shiver me timbers!

Monday, September 19th, 2005

It’s talk like a pirate day!
I will soon have updates on classes I will be teaching in October.

I just got back last from Port Moody, BC where I participated in the Wearable Art Fashion show at the Port Moody City Hall. The turn out was great and it was lots of fun and I will try to get some pictures up soon (If I got any decent ones!) If you are in Canada watch for it on CTV! The Sock Project was a hit, and the models were so great–they didn’t just model the socks, they did a mini-performance! I couldn’t have asked for more, It made my year.

This Wednesday there is an ATC exchange at Collage on Alberta St. in Portland, OR–See my website for more details!

That’s all for now–Here’s a pic of my adorable nephews Thomas and Trevor and one of my darling nieces Jenifer for your enjoyment:

Time for a garden update…As for my strawberries they have done really well this year! The ant poison works well–as for the organic spray I tried–it might work a little but you have to spray again everytime it rains and it rains a lot in Portland so I sort of slacked on that one. Once the ant population was down I realized I also had slug issues! So I put down animal safe slug bait and I was back in business. Now that I have the bugs worked out (har har) I will have perfect strawberries next year! WOOT! My artichokes were delicious and the ones I didn’t eat are now giant purple flowers–I’ll have to take a pic and post it. My raspberries have disappeared before I could pick them–we have discovered a family of racoons living in the neighborhood and what they didn’t get the birds did. Next year I’ll have to net them! My Dahlia’s have started blooming and some of them are as big as 7″!! The edamame I planted didn’ t come up at all…oh well. That’s all for now:)

Back to work

Wednesday, June 1st, 2005

Hope everybody had a good weekend! It’s nice to have an extra day off once in a while:)
Andrew and I saw the Pixies on Friday and took Kula to Cannon Beach where we stayed at a cabin on Saturday and had a great time:)
I got a new job at a local art college that will start in two weeks that I’m really excited about. I am sad to leave HHW but I am excited to see what the future holds. It will be great to meet new people and work amongtst artists:)
As for art work–I have been taking a little break this month…I’m not showing anywhere right now but It looks like I may be showing again in July so I’ll be getting back to work pretty quick here. More details on that soon:)
